Jane Vincent Artist in Glass
Jane makes leaded glass panels, some use the window as their wall,
to be hung like a painting and moved about and other are more permanent
fixtures.
She uses coloured glass, agates, and her own hand blown glass and may
build up the panel with more than one layer of glass. Sometimes the
glass is sand blasted or painted but Jane prefers to use the colours
and textures in the glass to achieve painterly effects.
Inspiration strikes when least expected - usually from natural things
but sometimes from technological artefacts and experiences that she
comes across through her work in the future worlds of telecommunications.
Literature and science have also inspired and more recently she has
begun to explore working in 3D, developing skills in hot glass and
ceramics.
Most recent projects include a leaded stained glass window for a garden
summer house and a panel to be used as a garden feature - commissions
for stained glass panels for the garden are welcome!
